While serving as an Officer for LA Animal Services, Jose's love for animals, particularly wildlife, has led him to collaborate closely with various rescue groups. Jose's involvement with the Specialized Mobile Animal Rescue Team  (SMART) has allowed him to conduct rescues for the organization, particularly in returning baby raptors to their nests after accidental falls.
